Q: What makes Investment Trust Company different?

A: Perhaps the most important difference is independence. Investment Trust Company is locally owned and managed by the people who work with you. We therefore have a vested interest in providing personalized, professional services of the highest quality. We serve as advocates for our clients in financial and trust matters. Unlike many other financial advisors, we are unencumbered by ties to specific products or institutional policies. Our recommendations are fair, unbiased, and focused exclusively on meeting the objectives of those we serve.

Q: Why a focus on “Private Wealth Management”?

A: It is ironic that families and individuals are often faced with much greater investment complexity than their institutional counterparts. Most investors with substantial estates have multiple capital pools, often including IRAs, other retirement plans, various personal accounts, trusts, and business interests. In these situations, non-investment issues such as taxes, estate planning and future investment management are of significant importance.

Private wealth management combines a number of key components which, when successfully implemented, result in long-term financial success and security for wealthy individuals and families.

These components include:
  • The creation of a long-term client specific strategy incorporating the building, preserving and eventual transfer of assets.
  • The effective execution of this strategy through the appropriate legal vehicles (asset location), development of a customized asset allocation plan and implementation via proper tax-appropriate investments.
  • The ongoing individualized attention to a client’s evolving needs and objectives.

Q: Who would be overseeing my relationship?

A: At Investment Trust Company, accounts are managed on a team basis with each relationship maintaining a primary and back-up Relationship Manager. Our teams are selected to best meet the individual needs of the client. The Investment Policy Committee, comprised of all portfolio managers and the Chief Investment Officer, oversees the industry sector allocation and stock selection process with portfolio managers maintaining investment discretion with respect to specific client portfolio decisions.

We are committed to keeping you informed, and dedicated to maintaining two-way discussions of your financial status. In addition to meetings and conversations with your relationship management team, our client communication includes monthly statements, and a quarterly Account Review package which includes our newsletter, a financial market update and account specific performance. For clients who wish to view their accounts online, we offer myInvestmenttrust.com, our 24 hour a day, 7 days a week link to account and performance web access.

Q: How do I know my assets are safe?

A: Investment Trust Company is an independent trust company chartered, regulated and examined by the State of Colorado Division of Banking. We do not accept deposits or make loans. The organization is audited by the State Banking Commission and an independent Certified Public Accounting firm. It maintains capital in compliance with state banking regulations and is both fully bonded and insured.

In compliance with banking regulations, all client funds are held in segregated accounts. Adding an additional layer of protection, physical custody of securities is sub-contracted to SEI Trust Company, the world’s largest global provider of trust systems and services.

Q: How would you invest my portfolio?

A:

Investment Trust Company provides institutional level separate account management services for clients. Due to the inherent tax advantages of owning individual stocks and bonds, we provide each client with an individually managed portfolio of stocks and bonds based upon their unique investment objectives.

Our experienced portfolio managers use a “quality growth” approach in selecting 45 to 50 individual stocks as core holdings. Individual municipal or taxable bonds and/or bond funds are employed for income and diversification. Exposure to smaller capitalization and international stocks is provided via seperately managed accounts or institutional funds where appropriate.

Tax considerations are taken into account in the initial positioning and ongoing management of portfolios. Where large low-cost stock positions exist, we work with clients to devise a tax-sensitive, long-term diversification strategy.
